Can I use Awaken with a condom?
Because Awaken is oil-based and can degrade latex and poly-isoprene, we recommend choosing oil-safe barriers like polyurethane or nitrile condoms for protection from STIs and pregnancy (or lambskin for prevention of pregnancy but not STIs).
Can I use Awaken with sex toys?
Yes! We recommend that you choose non-latex toys since Awaken is made with coconut oil and oils can degrade latex. Examples of safe toys would include silicone, glass, elastomer, and stainless steel.
Is Awaken a lubricant?
Awaken was designed as an arousal oil, or “pre-lube”. It’s meant to be applied at the beginning of sexual activity, to support the body’s arousal response by enhancing natural lubrication and blood flow and easing discomfort. Some people like to use Awaken in combination with an additional lubricant (you can check out our Sex Oil here). Be sure to apply Awaken first and allow at least 15 minutes for it to take effect so it doesn’t become diluted.
Can I use Awaken if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Awaken contains broad-spectrum CBD. Owing to limited research, the effects of CBD on breastfeeding and pregnancy are not definitively known. Check with your healthcare practitioner to learn your options.
